Error at Startup and game playing

I just carried out a complete reinstall of windows and one of the problems I see is a message that appears at startup and reads:

    RUNDLL
    Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvMctray.dll

Can anyone tell me what this is please.

I also installed a couple of games again for the kids and while one of them appears to be working OK (Age of Empires 2) the other 2 games stop when launched and the little box appears saying that the game (.exe) has encountered a problem and needs to shut down etc etc. with option of sending a report to Microsoft. The PC is not connected to the internet.
If its of any benefit the 2 games are Broken Sword (Sleeping Dragon) and Star wars battlefront

Is there a connection between the RUNdll start up message and the games not playing?

NvMctray.dll is part of the nvidia graphics drivers. Try downloading (on another pc, if necessary) new ones from nvidia.com.

    Thanks Stephen.

I've downloaded the new drivers to my own PC and when I install them on the other PC hopefully that will sort out the problems.

I assume that the games wont work because of the video drivers
