After hearing that Miami Vice was coming to the big screen, my first thoughts where ‘’O’NO.
But after viewing the trailer on apple’s site it looks like Michael Mann has pulled another cool film out of his hat.
Especially after casting Jamie Fox as Tubbs, Fox is a great actor. Not to sure about the casting of Farrell, but he looks
    The part i suppose.
Plus - Jay Z’s Linkin Park Numb/Encore Remix used on the trailer is a cool track.
It’s on my list of films to see this summer.

On the audio commentary of The Recruit, Director Donaldson mentions to Farrell that Michael Mann is next door now doing his commentary for Collateral.
Maybe Farrell met him then and that’s how he got the part for Vice???

Hmmm.. that's strange as there was at least a year between the release dates of 'Collateral' and 'The Recruit' - but maybe Michael Mann records his audio commentarys VERY EARLY into the production stage.

Looks pretty cool. Still not sure about Colin Farrel, I dont like him as an actor but Jamie Foxx is a terrific actor. Mann is a great director, Heat is one of my all time favourites and collateral was great as well so I have high hopes for this. Hopefully it wont disappoint.

Was seriously looking forward to it until I saw Farrell was in it. I don't know why exactly but I can't stand him. That said though, I'll still go to see it, and will probably love it :D

He’s got the looks but I don’t think much of his acting skills, to me he seams to come across the same in all the films I’ve seen him in.
Not a Diverse actor at all.

the trailer was on today before Walk the line, it looks much better then I expected, has the same Hi Def look as Collateral and it looks like they're going to avoid the whole irony har har sh!t that Charile's Angels and dukes of Hazzard had.

Im offically looking forward to it!

are you actually bragging about owning Denon gear here?

i haven't seen a bad Michael Mann film yet, so hopefully this isn't as crap as i'm expecting it to be...

Trailer looks alright, but something grates with me when Farrell says that "foreboding(sp?)" line... it just sounds like it's trying to be cool but it's not.

I would have thought this would be a blind balls-out action film with some cheesey references to the show, but with Mann I'd say it's a more serious attempt at a cop drama... I don't know if that would work though...

The Tv series was less action and more brooding but cool drama and Micheal Mann made the superb Heat so it looks very promising.

Not a huge fan of Colin Farrel but he impressed greatly in Tigerland and Phonebooth so he may just surprise everyone.

Personally can't wait for this movie.

No man, I’m not the bragging type, I was only saying the track sounds even better if it’s mixed, “No big deal..

    Haha :D that's class!

Micheal Mann is a great director but I hated the part of the trailer when Colin Farrell says "Badness is happening right now". It sounded stupid

ye may not be aware of this but Michael Mann wrote and directed the pilot episode (and a few others) of the original series. My bro bought it for me for christmas (as a joke) - it turned out to be really good (I was shocked!). After a few episodes it started to get VERY hammy, but the first few (esp the pilot) totally kicked aishe!

So as one of the creators of the series and the director of crime movies like heat and collateral, I'd say this could be one of his best movies. The trailer looks totally slick (hopefully linkin park will not be in the movie tho!!)
