Im having a few problems with our laptop. The first is the internet wont workon it anymore, just keeps saying 'Unable to establish a connection'. It used to work fine.
My second problem is that its not recognising when there is a cd in it. It dosnt realise when youve put one in and the cd drive isnt showing in 'My Computer'
    Your solutions please!

Your continued generic, vague descriptions, please.

What model laptop is it? What version of Windows are you using? Is it patched up to date?

Have you installed anything new lately? Uninstalled anything?

    Wired or wireless internet?

Does the CD drive show properly in the Device Manager?

Ok , i knew you all would think it was vague but im not too good at this sort of technical stuff. its some class of a dell laptop, Inspiron 510m it says on it, running windows XP home edition. I tried to install stuff for a digital camera on it, which didnt work and it was around then that the problems started , now i think of it. Its ordinary wired dial up internet.
