    Hi all,

Just trying out next doors new ripwave connection (Clondalkin Village) and I cannot for the life of me get a connection to stay on..
It will connect for 5 secs then go for 3 mins...

Is there some trick to this thing apart from turning it on and is it just a piece of crap.

Anybody tried taking these things apart to stick a new antenna on them.

    Thanks

i had a ripwave unit last year but it just wasn't up to scratch. you can try making a reflector to put behind the antenna, it's basically a bit of tinfoil on some cardboard. it made a slight difference to my signal, maybe 10% - 20%. but in the end i just gave up on ripwave. i think i got a green signal once...
    good thread here

and try to have it pointing to whatever mast you're on, ideally out a window.

The mast is only about 1.5 miles from me, I have actually a clear line of sight to the mast and still can pick nothing up..

maybe the unit is trying to pick up signal from another mast. if you can take being on hold for 10+ mins, you could call their support line and ask them to check.
