player stats question...

i reset my player stats on PPP about a week ago... and have played alot of online poker since, from the last week here are some key stats:

    Preflop:
    fold 40%
    raise 11%

57% of all my folds are preflop.

i've seen 35% of all flops.

when there is a flop i've won 40% of them - BUT (and this is what worries me most) when there is a showdown i've only won 2%...

from that i take it that if i see a flop i try and win it before the river and take the money down, but if it comes to a showdown im usually behind...

not 100% sure what any of this means about my play, but would be interested in some thoughts.

    THANKS!

i thought it would be obivious, you are not releasing your losing hands enough. Clearly the 2% win ratio says this.

those stats are incorrect, there is no way anyone could have a showdown of 2%

also 35% of flops is quite high especially since you're only winning 2% of these at showdown. My guess is that you're limping with a lot of poor hands and catching something on flop which ties you to hand!!If you're aggressive on flop and are most likely called by something better then its best to give up before going to the showdown knowing your behind.

It is 2% of ALL hands played have been won by you at a showdown. Not 2% of the hands that you have showndown. If you play 50 hands, you will fold 20 of them, win 12 hands, but only one of those 12 goes to showdown, so you are winning 11 by betting the flop, turn or river and not getting called.

I have similar stats to ditpoker but i have a 4% showdown.

I was very concerned about this.
But it does seem that its the percentage of every hand you have played and not just the ones that have gone to a showdown.

I don't play Paddy Power and only returned to PokerStars last night after a three month break. My stats would be - see flop 25% to 30%, win showdowns about 80%, with an equal number of hands winning uncontested. I guess I'm selective about seeing the flop, and if I don't like the flop i throw them away. When I go to the river I have a hand. I win about one hand in nine, which is what you would expect with nine players. I try to lose small and get the chips in the middle when I have something. Don't call off your chips.

Played three small sit & gos last night and made a small profit. Bubbled in the third one ....... held Q2 ..... flop KK2, QQ ..... other player K2.

first of all i like to say you should be too bothered with those stats in a tourney.
Unlike cash games tourneys go through stages and with each stage different strategy is needed.
for example if your playing a rebuy then its very ok to have a high % of flops seen and even going far with second best hands resulting in a high flop seen % and a low show down win %.
near the mid or late stages you should have a lower flop% and a higher show down % and this obviously depends on your style of play ,how loose or tight your table is etc.
so i wouldn’t worry about it too much Jeff.
Having said that a show down won of 2% is very very low.
it suggest that your over playing your hands. the fact that you have high win% post flop but not when it gets to show down ,backs this up.

Well Poker Tracker has helped me in that regards as well THis month i've won $1300. However, if I hadn't played a high card or single pair to the river, that figure would be nearly double.
