so I formatted my PC and installed a new copy of iTunes, (I have the old iTunes music folder backed up to dvds), now I put some new music in the new iTunes, and when I go to update it says "This will remove everything from your iPod and replace it with your library (which is only like 1 or 2 new cds), is there any way around this besides adding everything from the dvds into iTunes again, formatting my iPod and transferring it all over again? Are there any other programs or anything that can do this? Thanks!

if you have your old iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library.itl files (in the itunes folder) backed up then when you restore it'll be just as it was before you formatted. you'll have to re-add the music you added since the format

Simplest thing, you can turn off Auto-update in itunes and just add the files manually by dragging and dropping within Itunes.
Or you can use any of the other programs in the sticky at the top of the forum, e.g. ephpod, winamp etc. and bypass Itunes permanently
