I'm hoping to set up my laptop (dell latitude c540) as a pvr.

Which of these external tv tuners should I get?

    hauppage WinTV-HVR-900 or WinTV-PVR-USB2

Will these work with Chorus digital and if so, what do I need to know/do to set up properly?

I will have the laptop connected to TV via s-video / 3.5m to 2 phono cables to view recordings.

any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Not so sure about the first one - looks like it only takes input from the antenna, so it's not much use to you with the Chorus Set Top Box.

I have the second one and it will do what you want. You take the SCART output from Chorus and feed it into the Red/White/Yellow connectors on the PVR2.

The only thing is the quality of the s-vide connection isn't going to be great. That's just the nature of the s-video signal. If it is a small TV (less that 32") you should be ok.
