I would like to use Skype but am having problems with my laptop and picking up sound. The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1100 purchased about 2 years ago. It has a microphone as I have had this checked out by Dell but it is not capable of picking up sound at a discernable volume. I tried purchasing an external mic on a headset to see if that would help but to no avail. I have been onto the Dell help desk and they seem to think that it is a problem with the Motherboard and that it will cost upto e400 to fix as it is out of warrantee. I don't have that kindda cash so rang a local computer repair shop that said that they can't fix Dells. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks a mill!
