Photoshop Question

    I want my image to be its acual shape when I save it as a Jpg. Like its kind of archy at the top which doesnt fit into a rectangle, Can I save the image alone? I dont want all that wasted space showing

    Guessing: Sounds like you want transparency: as such, it'll have to be a .gif or PNG...

    If the image isn't already transparent, duplicate it and erase the area you don't want (in the duplicate layer), then delete the background layer, and you should see checkerboard where it's not transparent. Save it as a .gif to be sure.

    if you want better quality, click: file>save for web
    then select png24 in the optimization palette. make sure transparancy is checked.

    Although, IE doesn't treat PNG with the props it deserves. no respec'!

    press "post reply"
    then click on the paper clip icon...
    attach you file to your post.

    Ok, couldnt find that icon. Ok, I need to remove the brown section of the picture. How would I do this? The outline of the book needs to be kept pretty much intact.

    Copy the entire image to a new layer
    Click the eye icon beside the background layer
    Use the magic wand tool to select the blue thats around the book ..
    Press the delete key
    then follow the steps to save as transparent gif / png
