I know nothing about pianos, but is it a good idea to have it up against a window like that? I'd have thought it'd be better to keep it away from places where it might suffer from condensation, etc.

And if the sun shines in on it, it might damage the finish

That carpet isnt very rock though

Dubwhite: I hadn't thought about that, but it's the only space in the house for it. As regards sunshine that room doesn't get much light in winter as it is westerly-facing, but I'll probably shut the curtains in summer when there is sun in the evening :)

Mickymg2003: I'm not too sure, my parents bought it for me. I'd been asking them for a piano for ages as I cant improve my playing with just a keyboard so I came home one day and my mum said "We bought you a piano, also you're grounded for the next few days" I think it was around €2,500 though.

Dave: My carpet is plenty rock. In fact it's so rock I take it to every concert I'm at. If you knew the things that went on there...

i would imagine it sounds like a piano:0

Yes it does sound quite piano-like :p The resistance on it is slightly more than on the piano I have my lessons on and probably the piano I'l be doing exams on so It should be easier to play my pieces on them.

It has a very nice, clear, rich sound about it, so much notably different to my keyboard. ^^

Prob find it hard switching over. I did when I got my piano. Kept getting cramps in my left hand after playing for a while. Biggers keys and stretches. Also the only real way to improve is on a proper piano or on a very good weighted digital piano. Good luck with it anyway and stick with it. I played for a year when I was 12, then gave it up to play guitar. Only started playing again since christmas. Totally regret giving it up for all those years
