    from bbc
Mike Ruddock is set to stun the Welsh Rugby Union by announcing he will step down as Wales coach.

BBC Sport understands that Ruddock's departure will be confirmed on Tuesday at 2100 GMT at a hastily convened press conference at the Millennium Stadium.

It is not yet clear whether Ruddock, who led Wales to the Grand Slam last season, will step down straight away or finish the Six Nations campaign.

It is believed Ruddock will cite family reasons for his departure.

I somehow doubt that Henson has a lot of power in Welsh rugby at the moment. As far as I can see he has irked not only the blazers (not always a bad thing except from a career viewpoint) but also national and club teammates. He'll be lucky to lay in the 6 nations this year even with the injuries they've shipped

mike ruddock stepped down due to "family reason's" and you have to respect his decision. Its rubbish that he was "pushed" by the players because some of the players including Gareth Thomas, have spoken out at how disappointed they are and at how shocked they were by his decision.

But at the end of the day, Ruddock is gone, and Scott Johnson who has been involved with the welsh rugby team for years now, is now in charge. As things stand, he's the best man for the job.

Somebody above mentioned that this could be a good time to play wales...... Wales have had bigger blows in the past, and we will bounce back from this. If anything, it will be determination to beat Ireland, The players are saying they want to win the championship for Ruddock to say thanks for what he done for welsh rugby.

Mike Ruddock was a brilliant coach and we will miss him dearly.

any frustration that does exist now in the welsh camp, there gonna want to vent that frustration in dublin next week.

    COME ON WALES !

or as they say in wales

    DOD YN CYMRU !

Yes there has been a problem with Henson's book but the problem was with the ghost writer, Graham Thomas who abused his position which pissed off the Welsh players, who organised a press boycott until Thomas left the room, Ruddock was invited to join the players but didn't, which didn't help his position with the players. A lot of this is down to a sh1t stirring article by Thomas which ignited the whole Henson relationship with the team in the aftermath of his book.

Also the players weren't happy with Ruddock and 3 of them had a meeting with the WRU expressing their dismay at his tactics. It also pissed the players off when Ruddock got an OBE for winning the grand slam, players were the ones who actually won the thing. Scott Johnson seems to be the real man in charge and the one that the players respect the most.

So with Johnson in charge it should be a far happier Welsh camp but will he stay on with Wales or go back to Australia as planned.

I think the WRU not giving Mike Ruddock his £20,000 bonus for winning the grand slam
