    Source here!
    José González
    With Special Guests
    The Olympia Theatre
    May 08 2006

Tickets €25.00 incl booking fee are on sale THIS Thursday 16 February at 9.00am

After playing a sold out RDS show two weeks ago, the hugely talented José González has just announced a very special performance at The Olympia Theatre 08 May 2006.

After mesmurising millions with THAT song from the Sony 'Bravia' TV ad with the ping pongs, José has the ears of the world waiting to hear more.

Born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, of Argentine descent 27 year old Gonzalez is a huge star in Scandanavia. His debut album 'Venner' has spent the last two weeks at #2 in the Irish album charts since its release in January.

The album is filled with meticulously crafted atmospheric songs that are classic-sounding, ushering the listener into a hushed, spell-like intimacy. José draws you in with his dextrously finger-picked classical guitar and captivating/seductive voice. His provocative lyrics hypnotise and intrigue the most unromantic of souls.

José's eclectic influences include the late Elliot Smith, flamenco Joy Division, Nick Drake and Paul Simon. Veneer contains traces of all these, along with undeniable echoes of Will Oldham and Tim Buckley.

José González's private-yet- universal music, once heard, is impossible to shake off and Veneer is already becoming THE soundtrack to spring 2005.

Don't miss this opportunity to see the mighty Gonzalez this May, in the Olympia Theatre.

Tickets 25 Euro (including booking fee) are on sale now from Ticketmaster, and usual outlets nationwide.
    Doors open at 7.00pm.

don't know if i'll go, after seeing him twice his shows are much the same, unless there was some indication that he'd try out some new material.
