Any idea where to get computer with ~2GHz cpu, 1GB ram and 17" TFT. nothing else matters :) It seems I could order one from germany for about 480 euros, any idea where to get even near the same price in dublin?

try dell
I hate them but for your price.
Dont do any upgrades online. memory etc and strip back options such as warranty etc.
Do this yourself
