hi, if anyone has used Samsung players and has an opinion about them good, bad or indifferent - i'd be interested in hearing them!

in particular i was looking at buying the Samsung YP-F1ZW (on shopireland.ie - actually if anyone has bought from them before and has any opinions?)

I'm really open to suggestions about the brands to go for... I liked the size of the samsung and I would like FM but space is not an issue nor is the display.

    Thanks for taking the time!

I am just after getting the Samsung YP-F1 flash player. Sound is very good I think (had a pretty crapy no-name player before this. It's easy to get started with it but if you want to avail of all the extra features, clock, FM etc a read of the manual is required. Built-in battery which is a must for me.

Its small and easy to work when hanging around your neck. Earphones are built into the strap, which I like.

Paid about 130 at Argos for the 512MB. Prob could have got it cheaper elsewhere but there you go.

For what its worth, I have an old (as in circa 2001) Yepp. Aside from the crappy memory capacity (32mb onboard and 128Mb SM card) the sound quality is one of the best I have come across.

Also, its still running 5 years later so I guess that says somthing!

I've just ordered the Samsung YP-U1Q for my Mum (I'll let you know how she gets on). The reviews all seemed good. Shopireland.ie are actually amazon.co.uk.
