Does anyone know when this is available, or what features it will have that the older versions don't?

PM me your email and I will send you one

I have the Beta. It is good, but MS seem to be happy with their file-sharing feature, where you have you shared MSN folder and when chatting to a partner you can decide to see each others folders, and download each other's files, aka file sharing. (Anyone's first thoughts illegal file sharing )

You don't have to share files. Even if you have files in your MSN shared folder, you have to give a contact permission to view it, and only one can share it at a time. I don't use it though, MS just seem to like the idea

You'll no longer have to sign your soul over to Microsoft. MSN 8 completely automates the soul-harvesting process.
