64bit ubuntu live cd problem

    I'm relatively new to linux and want to try out ubuntu on my laptop an acer inspire 5100 64bit amd turion but when i use the live cd when it loads the console the whole thing is mashed up on the left of the screen. Any ideas on how to get it working?

    Does the initial menu/process look OK?
    Can you post a photo?
    Try alternative boot options (It'll tell you the key to access the menu - F1 or F2 perhaps?)

    yeah the initial menu looks fine its just when the console loads it goes weird, i'll post a pic later when i get the chance
