    Yes... a thomann thread!

So after alot of thought and pining for a fretless I decided to go with Thomann and a Warwick Corvette Classic FL 5 in an almond burst. Just ordered it 5 mins ago.

What are there delivery times usually like?

    thomann.... amazing!

In about a month, i personally will have bought around 4k worth of equipment off them. Amazing catalogue. I normally get my stuff within a week aswell, the €20 delivery is sweet ;)

Coolio, should have it in about 2 weeks then.

Will post pics when it arrives.

i feel all left out.. my single thomann order was a disaster... had to send back the synth, and then i found out that the same synth was gone out of production.. can't find it anywhere... i know, my eye is on e-bay... but having said that, they were very professional bout the whole affair, and i had no difficulty getting my money back

I've spent over 10k with them, however, they're useless for returning eMails. Phone calls usually do the trick. Best prices around, but I've noticed they're upping the prices on the stuff that's popular, case in point :

    Behringer FCB-1010 MIDI Footboard, Thomann € 189, anyone else € 149.

Anywho, 98% of my dealings with them are positive. Especially the fair shipping charges.

€15 shipping is good, but jesus it pays to shop around, Thomann isn't always the cheapest option. musikproduktiv.de have way better service and prices imo. But i recently was about to get monitors for €359 (ex- shipping) off of musikproduktiv and I found them on an English site, Turnkey for £200, thats over 60 quid less, and turnkey had free shipping too. Shop around.

Its not always a good idea to use many different suppliers, if you stick with the same company they're more likely to give you better prices for returning custom & loyalty. If you order a fair bit of stuff on a regular basis they should be bending over backwards to keep you as a customer and sometimes its best to pay that little extra for the service.

Anyway, in my dealings I'd have to say Thomann must not know how to use this thing called "email"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 307 ✭✭Idgeitman

yeah, on their site it says "here were answer over .....,000 emails", but it takes weeks before you actually get an answer.

but as was said, a good quick phone call always sorts out the problem ;)

Thomann are ok, but they didnt reply back to my e mails or give me my ups code untill after my bass had arrived

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

Just got my confirmation email there! Woohoo! :D

Have to wait for them to order the bass in then they'll be posting it off. Dont think its UPS though....

Tried ringing them again today, damn international calls are hard! I dunno whether I connected or not, it just kept beeping
Oh god I just want my bass!!!

Did you send them an image of your credit card (middle 8 digits on the front and the cvc number on the back blanked out of course)??

If its really a lot of hassle, and you arent getting anywhere, just go to Cormac in musictechnology. he charges about the same as thomann, and you can pay whatever way you want from him. plus, you dont have to worry about there being someone at home when its delivered, you can just pick it up from him whenever is handy. He gets things cheaper than thomann, and his profit margin really only just brings his prices back up to the thomann level. So youve nothing to lose really, and you dont have to pay him until he's actually got the damn thing ready to give to you, unlike thomann, who you give your credit card no. to, and you dont know what theyre doing to do with it, whether theyll charge you before the thing is being shipped etc. any problems with shipping he'll take care of, before youve paid him a penny

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

voodoo_child could you give me more info about this Cormac dude?
If Thomann can't charge the card again on monday I might end up going to this guy.

afaik, hes an 'agent' or whatever you call it for thomann, and some other big warehouse places. He gets stuff cheaper than you could buy because he buys in bulk, so he chucks on a few quid profit, and his prices still compare with thomann's(plus, hes getting cheaper delivery). Ive gotten stuff off him when i couldnt be bothered going through thomann. He's based near bachelors walk, he gives you a buzz when the stuff comes in, and you go in a pick it up, and pay him whatever way you want. He opens an saturdays too. Personally, I find this handier than thomann, because you dont have to worry about there being someone at home when the stuff is delivered.

On a good day, thomann would obviously be quicker to deliver, but if youre having hassle with credit cards (thomann are notorious for this), you may as well give him a shout. He'll tell you youll have it in 1-2 weeks, but this is just to cover himself, more than likely, youre talking a week max, if its in stock. His number should be in the resources. Just make sure you have a good description of what you want, sometimes its best to give him the exact description off thomann.

His place is called musictechnology inc

Has anyone ever ordered a tube amp off them?
Is it in anyway dodgy ordering a tube considering their frailty?
Choosing over a fender 65 super reverb and a fender 59 bassman LTD at the moment. Hardest decision ive ever made in my life! Any help in choice making would be appreciated! :D
Oh and slurms i hope you enjoy your new bass :)
