My mate came over today with his broken laptop and asked me to fix it, he told me he had already formatted so ok, all i gotta do is boot up from cd. nope, dosent work.

If I just turn on the laptop it says windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    system32/DRIVERS/isapnp.sys
I was thinking to myself how could he have formatted without a windows cd, i think all he did was just deleted all the files he could from the hard drive and told me he formatted it.

Its a toshiba equium, never worked with one before, if u hold down F12 it brings up this wierd BIOS, its not even i BIOS, you have four options, their images, theirs no text with them, first image is 4cds stacked on top of each other from what i can make out, next is to boot from cd then, boot from floppy and then boot from network.

When i put the windows cd in it loads n all that just after it says checking for configuration or something it stops and says
    setupdd.sys could not be loaded.
    The error code is 7

Theirs nothing wrong with the cd, i tried a different one and the same error happends. I dont know what to do now. Help needed.

I see, try delete on boot? Is it a work laptop? It might be locked out.
