i have a problem that when i run azureus and try to play an avi whether it be in media player classic or windows media player i cannot watch it (the audio plays fine but i get no picture).
as soon as i close azureus i can watch it again.
if however i use vlc it plays fine with azureus running.
anybody know how i can fix it?
i am runnung the lastest nvidia drivers for my 7800 gt

edit. it seems to have fixed itself. don't know why.

Normally it means the films are faulty

I actually have the same issue only SOMETIMES and I have a 7800GT and latest nvidia drivers.

I'd try updating your version of Java maybe? Or they may some setting for the nvidia drivers somewhere...

Avi isint complete, may have been some pieces discarded, VLC can play it regardless up until the part thats been dropped. Leave it downloading in Az for a few minutes more and click on it to make sures its 100%. Even when it goes to the bottom sometimes clicking on it reminds it thats it not all there.

it is not even an avi that i have got from azureus. it can be any avi. also the latest version of java caused problems on my pc e.g. azureus wouldn't shut down cleanly. i am using 1 0 5.05

You don't play a .avi file with Media Player, it'll work fine if you use real player

I was experiencing the same problem as you, so I just gave real player a go and it worked fine.

ok, i know what the problem is. if you set in your nvidia or ati control panel antialiasing and anistrophic to application controlled it will solve the problems with java. videos now work and azureus no longer crashes my pc.
    it is a known bug

Assuming you are talking of Windows Media Player, it does avi file grand, assuming you have the correct codec.

Sounds like an issue with Azureus SWT.

Make sure you're using the latest version of JRE from java.sun.com and replace the swt.jar that comes with Azureus with the official one from eclipse that you can get here, should fix your problems if they happen again.

Sounds like overlay issues make sure you have AA turned off or set to app controlled in the NV control panel when running Azureus as there is a bug in the drivers in relation to java based applications.

    In MPC go into View->Options->PLayback->Output

Set directshow video to VMR7 or VMR9 windowed and see if the problems persists.

if you're getting audio but no picture you probably don't have the right codecs. get the k-lite codec pack

thanks everybody but like i said, i fixed it or rather worked around the bug (by setting aa and af to application controlled in the nvidia control panel.
