had flame and pit cooked - pit was nicer ( less chared ! ) - flame was quicker

dig pit, fil with stones - ( smooth pebbles best ) - wrap your rabbit ( - preperred for cooking obviously ! ) with leaves - ( or foil if you have any ! ) - cover with stones ( so you have it sourounded - cover with inch of earth - make fire on top - nice slow embering fire - not a fast flamey fire. leave for a few hours. - remove embers - earth, stones - remove rabbit - eat !

I'd add a little olive oil and bay leaves for flavour..........

.....But will he not try and dig his way out of the pit????

rabbits too dry by itself to cook like this. You gotta wrap some bacon around it and hold it in place with cocktail sticks.

the OP wants to do this out in the wild! - if he goes with your plane they'll have to catch a pig and carve some cocktail sticks!! :v: :D
