    more importantly.. SIGUR ROS!?!

Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros, Primal Scream, The Ordinary Boys, Felix da Housecat, and Slam are the others on the T In The Park page.

Wed get The Who on Sunday and RHCP Saturday.

Ill go for Sigur Ros. I think its a bit cheeky of the Kaiser Chiefs to have their show in Dublin castle in May at 36 quid then to do oxegen again.. I wonder if they will be a t in the park only band.

Arctic Monkeys were already a given but good luck getting anywhere near the stage for that. The Who would be a curiosity.... but if they (or anyone else on the list) arent playing the same day as Sigur Ros I dont think Ill bother.

EDIT: Actually... Sigur Rós in oxegen could be horrible.. the idea of drunken fools shouting and joking throughout the set is gonna really messup the kinda atmosphere they had going at the Olympia.

I read an article in the evening herald last week saying that U2 would play croke park again in july (U2 flatly denied this). This was based on the fact that a 'mystery' band have provisionally booked croker for some time in july (20th i think). I'd say that it was infact the chili's who booked it. They're doing a UK tour in july. I'm not sure if they woud fill croker, but i'd say it was them that booked it. (This is speculation but i think it's likely :D ).

The who and chilis are headlining t in the park. so its more than likely the same for oxegen.

The Who should be good cos yes they should be at oxegen now. I think they will be on Saturday and RHCP on Sunday. ah the final drinks goin down as Under the Bridge is played. I love it.

The Chili peppers are absolutely boring live.

Damn, I'm gonna be away for the first week of july, and If I miss the Who and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, I'm gonna be very dissapointed.

Its hard to tell i can see them playing oxygen, but they do sound like the mystery band and they would probably fill croke park.

please please please somebody tell me the chilli's are NOT playing oxegen that would be a disaster, such a lame headliner

I'm surprised at the possible headliners. The Who seems like a very odd choice as Witnness/Oxegen/T in the Park have always been marketed as alternative festivals. I reckon if MCD can pouch a different headliner, they will.

Thought the Chili Peppers were past the festivals but no... they're back! I have no interest in seeing them as you can see.

At least it's likely not to end up being a regurgitation of Oxegen 2004 as previously thought, but ye never know. I do think the Chili Peppers are pretty much a given though, judging by their schedule.

99% of the time the bands playing T In The Park play Oxegen. Chili's and The Who are the headliners for Oxegen. My guess is the Kaiser Chiefs won't play Oxegen.

Anyway The Who should be great despite the only half the original lineup still alive. RHCP? Meh. I've never seen them live but nothing overly exictes me about them (overated band IMO)

Arctic Monkeys - fab. Praying the Green Room for them but they'll be on the Main Stage which will make it sh!t.
Sigur Ros - WOW! They may be the reason I'll go. However the type of crowd that goes to Oxegen will make the gig not as enjoyable. Must be Green Room.

If Morrissey and Muse are announced I'll go again this year for sure.

Oh jesus...are none of ye listening at all??

as the others said...the Chili's are THE worst live band i've ever seen in my life.
    christ

the only way i was gonna go to oxegen anyway was if Prodigy were there.

    Please Prodigy, don't be there....

Not nessessarily. Back in 2004 Pixies only played T in the Park while The Cure only played Oxegen. And back when the festival was known as Witnness the Scots got R.E.M. while we got... David Gray...

There are definetly about four or five international acts that play Oxegen and don't play T, and visa versa. Then there's all the homebrew bands...

I saw RHCP live in Hyde Park and thought they were fab. Caught Prodigy live and was mightily disappointed :(
But won't be here first week of July either so hope the whole line up sucks!

In saying that I think from last year The Coral and Travis (apart from Irish acts) were the only acts from T in the Park not to play Oxegen and the reason The Coral didn't play was due to them commiting for the Oasis gig at Marlay park around the same time. With the Pixies in 2004, they had played support to RHCP at Phoenix Park a month before Oxegen/T in the Park.

Going on this, since RHCP and The Who haven't announced any shows over here I think it's very safe to say that they'll be the headliners for Oxegen.
