    HI there

Am thinking about getting Sky in. Using NTL at the moment and have the house wired so that I can get it in each room. Can i bring the Satellite through the same wiring and it is viewable in each room or do I need a box in each room?

Sorry - really not technical but want to be able to at least view the "normal" NTL channels in all rooms.

    Thanks.

well firstly, i wouldnt advise using the already existing ntl cables.
as for each room you require a box for each room along with an lnb for each box, there are quad lnbs and even octo lnbs done that offer 4-8 outputs in one single unit, it is not advised to split a downlink cable to different digiboxes as the digibox outputs 12-18v to tell an lnb to switch its vertical to horizontal signal.

Well you could feed the Sky Box RF2 out via a distribution amplifier to each cable, and have the same channel in each room. Thats what we do with 3 Digital recivers, VHS, PC Sat card and one analog receiver. So all the TV sets have 6 extra channels as well as the Local Irish 4 from aerial.

The connection from LNB on Dish arm to Satellite box needs CT100 or better satellite cable. The NTL cabling is for aboput 1/4 of the frequency.
