anyone know the cheapest route/company to go with. ferry prices on the irish routes are completely rediculous compared to others i've taken around europe.

Ferry's aint cheap. They are struggling to remain open and are basically charging through the nose to take advantage of people who have no option because of the need of a car or van etc. It cost 400 quid to move home from england in a van. Expect to pay more than 100 each way for a car. They were advertising 99 quid one way as a "Special Deal" for the summer so I cant see you getting it much cheaper.

we ferry went with stenaline to Stranraer. but its like any ferry route in ireland, its hard to get a good deal unless there are a lot of people going, or unless ye go as foot passengers.

Stena from Belfast or P&O from Larne, not much difference in price between them.

Trouble is that car and one person is not much cheaper than car and 5 people so it can be good value for a group but lousy for one or two.
