Just a quick one do all 00 VW Golfs have ABS has standard as I can't seem to locate the irish spec list only the UK ones.

If anyone knows let me know ,

    01/05/1998 UK Versions
Front drive hatchbacks: 1.4 E and S, 1.6 S and SE, 1.8 GTi (125bhp), 1.8T GTi (150bhp turbo), 1.9 SDi E (68bhp), 1.9 TDi S and SE (90bhp), 1.9 GT TDi (110bhp). All have ABS, twin airbags, side airbags, height adjustable driver's seat, tinted glass. S adds central locking, elec windows and mirrors. SE has sunroof or air-con, remote locking, alarm, uprated RDS audio, trip computer. GTi and GT TDi have SE spec plus front foglamps, sports seats, 15in alloys, colour coded bumpers and exterior trim. 1.8T GTi has 16in alloys, Recaro seats. V5 has 16in alloys, 8 speaker stereo, sports seats, trip computer

On the very first Irish Mk4s side airbags were an option. They became standard during 1998
