Police Chase in Cork

About 11:45 pm i was coming out of the Gate cinema in Cork city and saw a small red car (old fiesta i think) being persued by a police car on North Main St. The red car, blocked by a car in front of it started ramming the car in front trying to escape. The policemen all jumped out and started battering on the red cars windows with batons, but the red car just reversed straight back and smashed into the police car and then rammed forward into the blocking car. It managed to break its way through and flew up Shandon street. Police car, bike and paddy wagon tore up after it. Does anyone know what it was about? Haven't heard anything on news yet..

My friend was outside the Woodford having a cigeratte and was nearly knocked down by said car after it came up that narrow street between the Tesco multi-story and Paul St. It was followed fairly quickly by a squad car and I guess you saw it then after it made its way down the Coal Quay and then to North Main St. Don't know what the outcome was but it's amazing no was knocked down by this car. I hope they were caught!

Don't know about this patricular incident, but generally if something happens, just wait one year and the results of the court case, whatever it will be about, will be in the newspaper.
