Been reading up on various DVD HD Recorders and I'm spoiled for choice.

Up to now I've recording via cables to my PC and encoding to Xvid after editing.

That's been mostly with old tapes (but with some new stuff, too).

So I'm looking for a recorder that will (a) record from Sky, (b) record from old video tapes, and (c) allow me to quickly burn the avi/mpegs to DVD data discs.

Is there anyone here who is doing exactly that? Any experiences/advice you'd like to share?

The Lite-On LVW-5055GDL Multiformat DVD Recorder (250GB HDD) looks tempting. Has anyone used that?
