Ok, it's a stupid Valentines thread, but hear me out......

My opinion is that Valentines is only really for girls, & fella's are not bothered with it at all.

    Am I correct so far?

It's also my opinion that there's no point getting my bf a cute & cuddly card & teddy or stuff like that, cos again the fella's not bothered.

Is there any guys who don't agree with me so far?

I'm getting my bf nothing really for Valentines. I know he couldn't be bothered with cards so I've sent him a humorous eCard that he should get a laugh out of, still get the sentiment of it, & not be embarassed by a big lovey dovey card being handed to him (& his family slagging him about it).

How am I doing so far?

On Valentines night itself, I'm just going to go to his & let him watch the match instead of expecting him to take me out somewhere.

I'm going to book a hotel for the following Sat for a night of passion (as I think that's about the best Valentines present a guy could hope to receive)

Am I WAY wrong on this, or is this generally how guys feel about Valentines day?

(You may have noticed, I'm not exactly a BIG romantic, so I'm not bothered with Valentines Day anyway)

This IMO is the optimal result of valentines. A supply of cold beer in the fridge would be a good idea too.

Your idea isn't bad but if you want to get him what he really wants, bring a a hot friend/twin to your night of passion.:D

If you want to make him really happy then give him the night of passion he wants and forget about what makes you happy. He can always return the favour.

Sorry, I'm the possessive type:- Won't share him with anyone, no matter how much he wants it.

& I was prob sounding like the ideal gf for a minute there too.....:(

You're spot on with the hotel idea chrissie!

I've been going out with someone for 4 years now and I've never had a better valentines day than just spending the night together somewhere.

And if you really want to just spend money nothing says i love you like lingerie! And I'm not kidding! :D

    Good luck!

Eh, sounds good in theory, but if I turned up naked & he sat, drank his beer & watched the football I don't think I'd be TOO impressed!!!

Think I'd rather be fully clothed so then I don't have to face up to the reality that football comes before me!!

and turn into a pizza at 2am.

that would be the perfect woman.

as to the OP and the gift for valentines day, its really all about what you want to give, and your own relationship with your partner.

youre not spot on in all of your approaches, but i doubt youd get many who would say no. persaonlly i wouldnt go in for that with my partner, but then again, a night of passion would just be a normal night for me (oooer missus!).
personally i think wed do the romantic meal if it werent for the fact that we will be at a wedding on the friday anyway!

as for giving cards, if you want to give a card, do it. if you want to be soppy, then be soppy, if you want to ignore it, ignore it. do what you want. there is no right or wrong. just do what you want. but men will enjoy the sex thing and the football.

My mates girlfriend was asking me what to get him, she said he had mentioned buying the new liverpool jersey. I told her that was a great idea..

Told her to get the orange one, with the wolf on it. Haha, it's gonna be hilarious.
