    Hi

I rang SKY yesterday to find out how much it would cost for me to get Sky installed at reception at work.

    230 Euro A MONTH!

Can I get a system where I can get Sky News and show it in reception without paying Sky 230 a month?

Is it possible to get a system to show BBC News 24 instead?

You may already know, but you are likely also to be subject to an annual fee for having a TV in a public place, even if it is just the FTA.....not sure is it IMRO or some other such authority.

yeah its imro you have to pay, they charge you by the square area in which the tv can be viewed.

I didnt think IMRO can charge you for showing just BBC news 24

No adds, no actors , just journalists.
I'd have thought that would be outside IMRO's remit

Showing other channels would be a different story for sure I would think.

By the way definitely go with BBC news 24-a much better channel imho.

Sky News, BBC News 24, CNN, CNBC, Euronews, BBCWorld TV, DW TV (1/4 english), Russia Today (24 hrs English), Bloomberg ARE ALL AVAILABLE Free To Air.

Equipment needed is once off cost of under 200 Euro. Install extra.

BUT, ANY TV AT ALL anywhere needs a TV Licence. Additional permits needed for TV OR RADIO in a Public place. IMRO may also be needed too.

CNBC do charge for public viewing. IMRO can only become involved if they are contracted to work for a particular channel they have no automatic right to charge anybody but you should check with individual broadcasters . Bloomberg do not charge and AFAIK neither does BBC 24

Bottom line.. Contact the channel.. FTA only means free at home. Eu TV without borders only applies to home viewers too.
