Work Relocating

    My company is located in Park West and I hear that they might be relocating out to Blanchardstown. I am living south side and am not looking forward to such a move. Does anyone know if i would be entitled to any relocation allowances?

    Check your contract. If it says that the company expect you to work anywhere in the Dublin area the company are not obliged to pay you anything.

    On the other hand if it says that you will be based in Park West then you may have a case.

    I never signed a contract. I have been working in the company for over 7 years. Would I be entitled to some travel allowance?

    I don't know where you stand if you don't have a contract. Contact the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment and tell them your situation. See http://www.entemp.ie/employment/rights/contact.htm. You will get the number there.

    The last company I worked for did something similar. They just expected people to get used to it.

    Have they been in ParkWest 7 years? I didn't even know it was open that long ago. If not, what happened when the company moved to ParkWest?

    Its up beside Park West. The company has been here since it was started, over 15 years ago
