    Hi all.
I work for an independent radio production company and we're producing a programme series which will concentrate on computers, console games and the internet.
We're currently recruiting for a female presenter. Ideally it would be someone with a bit of a profile that has both know-how and radio/broadcasting experience. Could this be you? Or could you suggest somebody?

Post moved to the Work forum, as that is the more appropriate place for it.

Hi I am currently working part-time with Limerick's Live 95FM (Limerick's commercial radio station) as part of the news team; to gain experience while in my final year of college (studying Media and Communications Studies). Last year I ran WiredFM - the student radio station in Limerick and I co-presented an entertainment-type show. I'm very interested in the position you are offering. Can i ask where it is, what station, pay etc? I can send on a cv if necessary. I'm using this website for the first time so I'm not sure how exactly it works, could you reply to my webmail?
I also have a huge interest in computer games which is why i think this position is ideal for me!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
    Fiona Cahill

Within the radio industry there is no problem with hunting for a male or female if it's what you need to portray a certain image. It is one of the few industries where this is acceptable though

It reminds me slightly of the ways you can easily work in America -

    Be very highly educated (PhD)
    Be a millionaire
...or be a fashion model

I agree with your point, viz it is acceptable to specify sex, but is there actually any proof of this.

We are currently in the pre-production stage of a national radio series that requires a male and a female host. The position of male host has been filled and we are still seeking an experienced female presenter.

To be comfortable with the programme content, you must have a good knowledge of computers and the internet. An interest in console games is a bonus.

This is a short-term freelance project that offers a fantastic experience working with a great team and will increase your profile extensively.

Closing date for application is Friday 17 February.
