Download Festival help

hey guys, after many years of waiting for a proper rock festival here in Ireland I am strongly considering going to the Download Festival at Donington this year.

I was just wondering if anybody on the boards here has been to this festival before and if so, do you have any advice, as far as tickets, flights, travel to Donington itself etc. Cheers guys

Flying with Ryanair to Nottingham East Midlands airport.

Travel on the 9th June, return on the 13th.

Cost?

As little as €41 + credit card fee.

thanx, didnt think to look at last years website. But I think I might travel on June 8th, always better to go the day before an event methinks. Have you been before? any advice on coaches to the event from the airport?

Never been, just saw the thread and I was in East Midlands airport less than a month ago and remembered it was close to Donington.

The flights cost the same going on the 8th, thats the day I checked first.

You can get a bus that goes to donington,its just a normal public bus.
But donington is only about a 15 minute walk from the airport.

When i went in 04 we got the bus there but then walked back

Christ, that's ridiculously easy to get to.

If this were in Ireland it would probably cost €40 to bus there.

i was gona go last year, and then this year, but i booked a holiday to canada instead. if trivium, bfmv and metallica are all playing and all confirmed id (and i mean the o.p. should here) defo go because oxegen is a joke. i would have come with but unfortunely ive other commiments. sorry dude.

Thats very true,The plane actually flies over the track/venue....how much closer dould you get

yea i went the last two years. Its excellent. really well run and always has a pretty good lineup. Il definately be there this year!

Yeah they are confirmed. I might misunderstand the context but they are playin. But anyway, id love to go. Always seems really good. Maybe next year!
