    Hi,
How thick does a skim of plaster go?
I am putting 35mm thick insulated plasterboard on wooden battens attached to the wall of a 1940's built house. Its only an issue where the windows are. Should I cut the board a few mm short around the window opening so the plaster finish is flush or does it matter? I won't be insulating the lintel or sides of the window opening. Once I have smooth walls I don't mind that the UPVC frames are slightly covered.

as far as i remember a skim of plaster is only a very few mm thick, maybe 3 or 4. You are not going to be covering the window frams with any noticeable amount so dont worry.
