What kinda training are you interested in?

    Punching, Kicking, Throwing, Pinning/Jointlocking,

Something more functional or something more traditional?

    Theres a wide range AFAIK

I do door work (bouncing) and I am involved in the security industry. I've tried out a few styles kick boxing, muay thai and a few others and I'm looking for something practical no fancy high kicking. so something involving grappling, pins locks, throws etc but found judo wasn't aggressive enough.
A few boys in my section reccomended krav maga but I don't have the money to do that at the moment.

Putting it out there to you wise board members.

    Cheers:cool:

MMA particularily the grappling side of it is very practical for controlling a customer without necessarily having to hurt them.

You could try John Kavanagh who runs SBG Harolds X (Soon to be Tallaght) or more likely you could look up Andy Ryan who runs SBG Northside (in finglas I think though Im not sure)

You'd be getting the best from Judo, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu aswell as learning how to integrate the above with your striking.

If that isn't aggressive enough for you...:)

i too do doorwork what works for me is good clinch training, i.e judo or greco roman/freestyle wrestling, although think you should take a look at yourself if all your looking for is to be aggressive! show me any doorman who could put andy ryan out of a bar using solely agression and ill buy you a beer!

the last thing u should be is aggressive, training aggressively is fine if thats what you mean though im gonna leave my ramble here though

out of interest where did you train judo?

Any of you see Cage Warriors 7? I was looking forward to seeing Andy Ryan fight and was really disapointed when I watched the match. He got no strikes in at all and none of his take down attempts worked. Fight ended in a ref stoppage after only two minutes.

In fairness Tengiz is a beast and incredibly hard to take down.
