If you are after something cheap and cheerful, you could try the travel lodge oun next to McDonalds on the cork Road. This will cost you €59 for the room only.Less than 10mins walk from all the nightlike in the city centre.

    https://www.travelodge.ie/make_a_booking/availability.php?travelodge=Waterford&hotel_id=230&doa_dd=11&doa_mm=02-2006&stay_len=1&no_of_rooms=1&x=55&y=18

If you would prefer something in the citycentre you could try the Belfry which is available for sat night and a double room B&B will cost you €110. This would be a 5 min walk from the main pubs and clubs.

There's a quality hotel on Scotch Quay/Canada st. called The Marina. These are usually good value, or so I believe.

I was going to also suggest this option to him also, but they now operate a two night thing at the weekends. This means they will not give him a room for Sat night without him either staying Friday or Sunday along with it.

The Ramada hotel on the cork road is your best bet .. very nice rooms on the outskirts of the city.. http://lm.hotelclub.net/SearchResults.asp?city=Waterford&inDate=2006-2-11&outDate=2006-2-12&suburb=&star3=on&star4=on&star5=on

I cant see how you would think that the Ramada would be a better option that the travel lodge. The travel lodgeis within walking distance from the CC and its also the cheapest. The ramada is about 5 miles outside CC and would cost him €93 for a double room if I'm not mistaken.

Seems like a very bad choice for a student, considering most students don't have cars and a taxi trip would cost a fair bit....very bad choice of a place to stay

Firstly from reading his post he said he was thinking about taking a trip to Tramore so I just thought that one of them might be driving "A" car maybe not his or his girlfriends car but maybe one of their parents cars, as he didn’t say then none of us know. I have stayed in the Ramada 4 nights on different weekends in January and paid no more then €65 a night for a double room and even €59 for a night on new years day a bank holiday. Now if he gets the travel lodge for €59 as was said in the above post and got the Ramada for an extra €6 would you not think it would be worth the extra €6 to stay in a much better nearly new hotel or stay in a motel where the standard is about a quarter of the Ramada? I know what one I would spend my money on.. give them a ring and see what kind of price they give you, it might be worth your while.

I would recommend the Tower Hotel, but then again I work there so I would wouldn't I? :p . Although in honesty it might be a bit expensive although they do specials.

I'd go with the Travel Lodge, cheap and cheerful.

A lot of B&Bs/Guesthouses are a bit iffy about taking people at your age in, espicaly on weekends.

As for going to Tramore, the BaldyMan isnt to bad of a place. Storm is just useless, and Cul Tra is where all the under-agers go. The Vic Pub up on Queen St. is a nice enough pup also.
