Here's my take on what a gruul deck should look like

    Lands (23)
    4x Stomping Ground
    4x Karplusan Forest
    2x Skarrg the Rage Pits
    8x Forest
    5x Mountain

    Creatures (25)
    4x Llanowar Elves
    3x Birds of paradise
    4x Kird Ape
    4x Scab-Clan Mauler
    4x Burning-Tree Shaman
    3x Viridian Shaman
    3x Rumbling Slum

    Spells (12)
    4x Moldervine Cloak
    4x Char
    4x Shock

My only qualms are that i cant seem to fit in Frenzied Goblin (who is godly in this deck). anyone have any suggestions?

*tries to remember the last time he posted here....*

    :)

@Matt: I think it's lacking a bit of beat. Cut the Shock for the Goblin as they both do the same thing but the Goblin does it better.

i would cut the pain lands for basics as you dont really need mana fixing in a two color deck,i would consider removing the birds they dont fit into an aggro deck.
then again, i havent played the deck so i wouldnt be sure.

The reason i have the birds is to accelerate into a turn two Burning Tree, as well as being a great vehicle for Moldervine Cloak. In retrospect i could probably cut the shocks for volcanic hammers and birds/elves for Frenzied goblins. i might have to wait and see how the pros build it.

Keep the 4x accelerators, you'll need them for early tempo. Cut the birds for the goblins. The Elves are better as they can still swing for one later on.

    No Jitte? :P

I personally think the Jitte is a little too slow for this deck, i think that in terms of fast beats, Moldervine Cloak is superior. its also more resilient to destruction which is important considering all the seed sparks, naturalizes etc going around

if your turn 2 creature is burning tree shaman than consider cutting down
on the amount of scab clan maulers, they are good but if you already have
your creature for that turn then they might not be so important
    :confused::confused:
