It can also depend on your PC. Best to try out a couple of emulators.

It really depends on the games as well. I find a combination of Nemu and Project 64 is good. haven't tried 1964.

Project 64 doesn't support as many games as Nemu but emulation tends to be much better and accurate.

Don't think that N64 emulation is up to standard. My solution was to buy a second hand N64
