    Hey,
I've been getting a problem on start up lately that is similar to the one caused by the old Blaster worm...
Basically I get a notice telling me there was a problem with the generic host 32 or something, and then I get the 1 minute notice that Windows is due to shut down because the Remote Procedure Call has terminated.

Using Shutdown -a solves the problem but it returns when I start up again...

    It's WinXP Pro, SP2 btw.

That's a pain. Here are the rest of the instructions.

I don't think it is blaster, I have an up to date firewall and virus scan and I use sp2 (which I thought blocked the exploit of the worm)...

It is better to have the Hotfix as well. Is XP up to date ?
