googled it to no avail. i'm intrigued to know about these linen backed playing cards.
Do bad beats happen with these cards?- BMC, nicryan and myself were discussing a hypothesis on sunday in the fitz that the cards themselves move themselves around to help that calling station donkey to hit his runner straight flush to your quad aces. Could be on to something you know!

Linen backed cards are quite difficult to find these days.

We (Special Days) have sold a standard deck of linen backed in the past. (about 2.50) and I will check with that supplier to see if they are still available. - If so I'll get a few dozen sent to our Liffey Valley store for wednesday. - They were quite a reasonable quality.

As to why they are not as prevalent, my guess is that printing & papers have oved on and most players prefer the coated cards currently available.

That has nothing to do with what type of card they are, the plastic ones do it too. In fact they all do it. It's some manner of international card conspiracy. I blame giant lizards!
    oh.....and the dealers of course.
That was me sitting to your left during that conversation by the way.

    Thanks Nic.

I deny all allegations that I was involved in a discussion of such frivolity.

So you're the rock who knocked me out after i was shortstacked and had to push with my AQ. And of course i had to find your AK. Naturally

How did you get on in the end? You had quite a nice stack when i left.

It got down to four of us and we split the prize for 200 (second place) each. Best poker i've played in a while (with one incredibly stupid play towards the end being the exception).
