  • Closed Accounts Posts: 811 ✭✭✭donhughberto

Same question as LOZ, why is it in 2 episode format and only advertised as Man of Science, Man of Faith, kinda messes up with my Prision break on five damn, i see it is repeated for an hour next Saturday in early evening

I think one is a "recap" episode only.

Yep, exactly right.. one is 'Destination: Lost' - a recap of season 1.

Thank bejasus for the recap too.
My missis has decided to watch it this season so now I'll only have to answer 3,264 questions about what the heck is going on. :D

Stupid place to put the first ad, practically in the middle of a sentence! And I had forgotten how good that opening scene is. One of the best Lost episodes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Yep.. definantly one of the best openers to an episode.. fantastic!

Also this episode is definantly one of my favourites of Series 2.

And before any of the RTE viewers ask, the song is "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" by Mama Cass.

This is only the second episode of LOST I have ever seen :o
    V. Good so far (as was the other epp. I saw). Something to watch on mondays again, nice one.

Re-cap of season one was very handy. Good idea that and well executed. Thought it was going to be a talking heads "ain't our show fantastic" piece.

I missed the first few episodes when it first aired last season, so instead of dipping in and out I just waited for it to come out on dvd....of course then I could just turn on the next episode straight away! This waiting a week malarky will be tough!

Im on Lost 212 as are most around here but what did y'all think of 201 on RTE if you saw it for the first time? :D

I still think the opening 5 minutes are some of the best Ive seen on TV.

    Ever.

    Just fecking brilliant ;)

I'd been promised great things for the opening of the 2nd series by a number of people and I'm happy to say that, for once, they were right.

I've been waiting for Lost to gain any bit of pace at all and tonight's episode did move things along quite a bit (for Lost).

It was obvious it was going to be the Scottish guy at the end, you could hear it in his voice.

It's also interesting that the "miracle" Jack performed on his wife to be is the same miracle that the Island performs on Locke ie regaining control over the lower body.

I'll stick with Lost for a while longer but if it goes back to "service as usual" in the next few episodes I think I'll ditch it.

I don't think it was his wife.. was it?

    Someone elses wife I thought.

And wtf is with the scottish guy? Very strange that.

Really must get hold of a complete season one set.

I started off as a dedicated follower of Lost, up to about eps 11 on series 1. I just found it too slow to follow. I caught a few more epsiodes but I saw the recap and eps201 last night and I'm hooked again. It was excellent.

I thought that too. I got the first 10 eps of season 2 from ebay and my first thought was "WTF has that wanker sent me?! This isn't Lost!"

In the first series we know that Jack's wife is someone whose life he saved. I'm assuming that was through surgery but can't be sure. At his wedding speech Jack makes the point that the reverse is actually true - that she saved him. We can see from last night's episode that the patient was bringing out a different, more human, side in Jack.

Notice how the fiance wasn't around anymore at the end of the episode? She wasn't anyone's wife when she entered ER but I think it's pretty likely that she'll end up marrying Jack.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Yea, the fiancee did seem a bit shakey on the idea of marrying her if she were to need assistence (in the brief sceen he was in). Again, I really MUST get season one.

....might just go into town and see if I can find a copy actually. Damn it anyway.. I had made an effort not to get involved with this show :(

Anyone else find it strange that Lost wasn't sponsored last night? The promos running for the past several weeks had the 'Lucozade' logo on the top-right hand corner, yet last night's episodes had no stings at the ad breaks, or any Lucozade material to launch it.

So either there was a transmission fault on the broadcast of the Lucozade material, or it wasn't ready in time (doubtful), or, more likely, Lucozade pulled out of the sponsorship. Still means one of RTE's biggest shows wasn't sponsored for its launch night (surely a higher audience than usual), which will be a bit tough to explain...!

    no sky digital subtitles either...

    no sky digital subtitles either...

From what I saw, they arrived about 5 minutes in to 2x01, but whether they stayed or not, I'm not sure. Not a great service for the deaf, that. RTE Subtitles are very weak anyway (misspellings, poor edits, a £ instead of # for some reason, mishearings (!), poor line breaks...)

wow and double wowsers. last nights ep was amazing.

We learned so much new stuff... what was in the hatch who was there etc. So what kinda laboratory is it???? it looks like it was built to study something could this be lostzilla. How did "Brother" get on the island, did anyone see what he was injecting into his arm... Why did he say he was nearly a doctor...

So many more questions to be answered. Somehow I don't think there all going to be answered this season.

    loved the ending

    YOU.....

a guy stuck in the 80's

Ok! well I wasn't expecting that.

For a Jack episode it was good.

Mainly because now Jack's storylines are giving that character a reason to be on the Island.

I was hoping that we would have got the second episode rather then just the first and a perviously on episode.

    Lost is back! Woo! Who!

I was just wondering, at the beginning of the episode, it shows Desmond down the hatch, doing his excersise and washing the dishes and what not, but did anyone else notice that there was windows, but how could there be, if he was way down underground, down the hatch

If someone could explain this for me I would be most grateful :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,945 ✭✭✭Anima

They're just lights behind a screen.

Oh I see, I was pretty sure they were windows.

Anyway, can't wait til next Monday, Ep 202 :D

One question nobody else has asked yet:

Where's Kate gone? (I know she's in the lab, but what has happened to her?)

Fantastic season opener. My mum sat down with me and she says she's hooked, despite only seeing the first episod of each season so far.

I'll be in Paris for Monday, so luckily I've got Sky+ :)

so many little oddities, small things to pick up on, when is this repeated because I want to look over EVERYTHING

esp the numbers on the meds he was taking, the drawings on the wall. WHY IT SAID QUARENTINE ON THE INSIDE OF THE HATCH, not the outside. Do the others bring desmond food? why was there more than one bed, multiple uniforms and guns?

provided 100times more questions than answers, typical lost, and i am fookin hooked again!

excellent episode. keep your feet up - or whatever desmond said to that effect surley leads to jacks wife walking again, supernatural powers anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,437 ✭✭✭Crucifix

I thought it was an ok episode, but nothing above average really. One thing of note were the key on Jack's neck being attracted to something when he was in the hatch; reminded me of the compass not working right in series one.

She's probably in the kitchen, betraying someone.

I dunno, I'd say she's just confined in a room to the side, it won't be any great mystery when it's revealed anyway.

Well Lucozade is far better than them O2 things

"My house alarm has gone off", "You just sent yourself that so you go home and watch Lost"

"What idiot booked dinner when Lost was on", "That would be me..."

"Liz rang to say that she taped Lost on your Knightrider tape", "I don't have a Knightrider tape"

Just like to say i watched the first 10 minutes of the repeat and there's at least 2 things (i think anyways) in those first 10 minutes that the RTE viewers here failed to pick up on and that us US viewers copped onto in our initial thread.

Will try not to spoil it here with what they are but here's clues for both (hope this isn't breaking the no spoilers rule but it was technically in the episode):
Watch Desmond's typing into the computer

The name of the other driver in the car crash with Jack's soon-to-be wife!

I did notice that in the repeat. Thought it might be a coincidence at first, but then remembered 'this is lost we're watching here'.

And I don't think anyone spotted or mentioned the numbers appearing on the vial that "the guy in the hatch" injected into his arm at the start.

Oh, well done! Hadn't seen that post. Nicely spotted. You win the prize of a trip to the island! *

    * Prize may involve becoming shark or monster bait, or - worse - having to listen to John Locke whine on about destiny.
