Two panoramas of Connemara

Both are from today. I went playing wth the Gimp, Hugin and Enblend on my desktop to see what I could come up with and after a few hours of tinkering I'm quite happy with the results. The first is of Killary harbour from the viewing spot just below the activity centre and the second is of a lake about halfway between Killary and Cong (I didn't catch the name).

    Opinions?

Good technical exerices in using the different applications. The weather being dull and overcast didn't help from an aesthetic perspective but I don't think that was your purpose here. I'd go back there some morning or evening when there is interesting light and see what you can achieve. It looks a very interesting area.

You using Firefox? It has automagic resize. (although, seen as they're panormas, a bit of left-to-right scrolling isn't too terrible I think).

I quite like the first one anyway.

Yeah, the day - and today - have been dull as anything, which hasn't helped matters. On a sunny day, it would've been glorious.

Fair enough, but it still requires the download... says the man with a 3mb line.. :p

lol, sorry. You were right about the 3mb line. You stop noticing that its a 500kb+ file. I have them added to my Flikr for your low-bandwith pursual. :D

God I love broadband. Thought he was complaining about the scrolling.. the size of the things didn't even occur to me :D

Fenster, I like the first one better, the second has less balance regarding the water, makes me look over to the left too much and there's nothing else there to draw the eye.

Fair enough, the weather wasn't the greatest, but there's your impetus to go back on a good day when the sun is out, or keep it for an evening with a great sunset. Then it'll look great.

    B.

The mussel barrels stand out to much in the first pic.
Used to seeing them down by Castletownbere but they just look to be hovering over the image.

Pity about the weather conditions as both could be much nicer pics given a better day.
