Live Problem

:mad: :mad: tried yesterday to set up my 360 with live. started on the dashboard, selected join xbox live and then after a second it tells me that i need to install an update in order use live. i go to install this update and after another few seconds it says "installation failure-- a failure occurred during installatio of this update". it doesn' tell me what the cause of the failurre was, that's all it says. help, anyone?:(
P.S... i already went through the xbox live test in system area of the dashboard. everything there checks out apart from xbox live itself. i have the 360 connected to eircom broadband through a netopia 3347NWG router.

click on the following addy - if you have the netopia 2237ngw modem & eircom broadband: http://192.168.1.254/

on the left hand side click on expert mode and go into this - it will give extra options here

click on configure (on left hand side) - three options will come up - the first is connection - click on this

at the bottom of the screne will be a detail upnp - universal plug and play with a green tick beside it - click on the the tick to deselect it - i.e. TURN THIS OPTION OFF

save changes - at very bottom of screen

I have had the same problem today, everything goes fine till i try to connect to xbox live (have never connected before). It goes into the update then i get the error. I am on a wireless network using xbox wireless adapter and Netgear DG834GT router. Any suggestions?

Turn off upnp on your routers settings.

I had tried that yesterday but it still wouldn't work. This morning, I updated the firmware on the router and tried again. This time it works! Thank you very much.
