My father rang me at 3o clock. He told me to put money on Kings Glen in the 3.10 at punchestown. All i had was 15 euro so I stuck 7 e/w on him got back 154 sweet. If he had told me earlier I would have posted it.

i know its aftertiming in the extreme...but that race with Farmer Brown, the 4:30 in Mussleburgh. I got a tip for the winner (New Dancer) about an hour before the race.

I was in a bookies in Kilcullen collecting my money from Native Jack (ye good thing) when I met a guy that looked like he had a few drinks in him. He was just after getting a text telling him to get on New Dancer - absolute certainty. He had already backed Farmer Brown in the race but more or less tore up the docket and backed New Dancer. The tip came from a mate of his that worked for Kevin Ryan. Luckily I backed it (and got a few mates to back it too!) - got it at 6/1. (I don't know him from Adam - so I was taking a chance!!)

Horse racing is some game - any sensible reading of the form would tell you that Farmer Brown should've had no problem winning that race. Makes you wonder sometimes if gambling is a mugs game unless you are "in the know"
