Hi,

I am in the process of trying to buy my first house with my boyfriend. We are hoping to see mortgage advisor next week but just have a question about the tax relief at source given on mortgage interest.

I have seen that the max relief for a single person is 800 per year, but because we are both buying the house can we get 800 each per year or is it just one person that can claim it?

Ye can both get it.

As a single owner I get about €67 p.m. you need to fill in a TRS-1 form though.
