Whats This Film ??

A film I remember from my childhood but no one else can seem to remember it, here are some of the vague details my parents and I could remember of it -

• It was set in australia
• It was more than likely a mid to late eighties film
• It was a part real part cartoon film (akin to "bedknobs and broomsticks")
• The main carachter was a little girl
• The little girl may have been called Dorothy
• I think the girl had red hair and wore a yellow dress
• I think there was also a baby kangaroo called joey
• The kangaroo was trying to find his mother
• There were also a host of other australian cartoon animals in the movie including crocodiles, walabies and a koala
• The title was strange and one wouldnt associate the content of the movie

I know the details are vauge but if anyone can remember this at all it would be greatly appreciated because its been driving everyone in the house mad with thelast fortnight. Thanks all.

I dont know the name of the film. But I do remember it. The BBc used to show it over the summer. I think they were a series of films the was one about a beached whale aswell

Actually after a little further searching it may have possibly been the sequel I could have been thinking of also Dot and the bunny

You f**king legend, I was also wondering the name of that film. It did have some sad scenes and I do remember seeing it nearly 15 years ago on BBC.
