Will start contracting next month and currently looking around for the best rate I could get for setting up Limited Company and annual accountant's fee.

    1. Company A. Setting up Limited Company EUR500 (plusVAT) - one time.
    Annual Fee EUR1600 (plust VAT).
    2. Company B. No cost in setting a Limited Company. Annual Fee EUR1750 (plus VAT).
    3. Company C. Setting up Limited Company EUR EUR460 (plus VAT). Annual Fee EUR EUR1900 (plus VAT).

Please advice if yours is cheaper than these. I would appreciate recommendations based on personal experience.

    Thank you very much.

I use CXC to do my accounts (www.cxc.ie) and I pay them 5% of my gross every month.

They make you a director of one of the companies they own, and you just send them your timesheets and expenses every month, it's simple.

I think a % is a bit of a scam. They do not need to do more work simply because you earn more. You should try looking elsewhere for a fix fee solution.

I certainly wouldn't go for option B as they are locking you in to a certain degree. Why do you need an accountant straight away? Your company can apply for an audit exemption which depenses the need for audited accounts. My advice would be to go directo to a formation agent try www.companyformations.ie They can set up your company & give you the forms to register for VAT, etc.. Then employ the services of a bookeeper if required or do it yourself... I started off myself, but as business increased I got a bookeeper, If you want the blokes details pm me. Good luck with the venture!
    :)

I know, it is pretty steep but this is my first (and hopefully last) contracting role, i've only another month left so i'm not bothered about changing accountants.

Hey PRman out of your 11 posts 9 have been to recommend companyformations you do know pimping for business is not allowed on these forums? Drop a mail to admins@boards.ie and pay them for a banner across the top like every other company.

I used them as well, found them very good. The fee per month is capped at €250 iirc, there's no charge for setting up or closing down, I found it to be a very useful service.

Some of my co-workers who were hired at the same time for the same contract, arranged all their accounts tru cpl, I earn about €100 more a month than they did :)

That link is wrong. After a bit of Googling I found: http://ire.cxcglobal.com

Maco, can you give me the names of those other companies? This is something I have to organise for myself soon.

Hey thats expensive the firm i work for would be cheaper than those three options.

€270 for the set up of the Company anyway.

Will you do your own Vat and Paye Returns.

Will you have a proper system for keeping books if you then this will drive the cost down.
