hi everyone, first post here  - i hope i put this thread in the right
    place. oh well!

post here your Gaeltacht experiences and the one you went to

i went to coláista columba last year in coursa a 'twas deadly but i learned
    no irish at all!

the highlight would have to be sneaking out on d last night and goin down
to d beach for a drink with the lads at around 2:00am!

the bean an tí was so sound she let us speak irish the whole time!it was
her first year being bean an tí so she knew nothing.

i'm goin again next year and i cant wait!

I went to Colaiste Na Rossan In Anaigre in Donnegal 4 Summers in a row and I loved it... Great craic altogether... very strict on the language side of it though.. good few people were sent home for speaking English... I loved the ceili dancing :D

who was your príomhoide, cinnre, and what muinteoir did you have

i had Rónán as my muinteoir and this mad one called Ursela was the príomhoide. this young guy in his 20's was my cinnre. he was from galway and was totally mad. his name was Gearoid but for some reason everyone called him "Grd". on the last day we soaked him with loads of water and this other cinnre with red hair too (i cant remember her name).maybe you remember him.i was in Teach Eileen. it was sooo far away we had to walk like 2 miles to the coláiste every day like 6 times!we wer all beggin Grd for a lift every day in his Gold coloured Volkswagen Golf.

did they play that real weird song every night which had a set dance to it? it was like "ooooh- heeee - oooo- hhhh". BTW i hated the ceilí's after a while! they wer so annoying... every night for 3 weeks (except fridays i think - that was "An Diosco")

I had Ursela and Garoid he was a legend he cried on the train when we left and he used to stay in our house every night for hours talking to us about all the lads who were staying in his house and then when he went home we rang the lads and when he caught them he used to start talking to us untill anout 2 at night, this was all in english and we used to be so tired in the mornings. I was in Brid Ea Earaigh's house that was one of the last houses.

Ah good old columba... It was such a sham ^_^. I was there the summer before you 2.. Course A or B, i don't really remember. It was fun anyway... cept for the disorganised and learning free nature. SIGH DA REIR A TIGHE LE BHUR DELL! (meh..somewhat phonetic..but i could never figure out how that command worked)
