How long does Paypal take?

I won an auction on ebay and paid for the item through Paypal immediately after. It seemed to go through ok. However, there is no history of it on my Paypal account and the seller did not receive the funds yet. How long does it normally take? I contacted paypal but no response yet. What should I do, can I cancel it somehow…

The payment goes through instantly but you have to wait for them to accept it. Until then it will show up as "Unclaimed".

So would I see it on my account history instantly as a payment?

I noticed something similar the other night, I am absolutely certain I completed the transaction yet nothing showed up on my account or CC, after a few days I made the payment again.
