Using card on old box

I've recently just applied to get sky back into the house. The card arrived yesterday but I have to wait for the installer to come out to install the new box and dish.
I still have my old dish and box working perfectly and I know i cant use the box cause the card has to be registered to it but if i called sky and registered it to the old box could i just as easily register it to the new box when it arrives and say I bought a new box?
Probably confusing but hopefully you get my message.

It is fine to use the card in any box.

Only channels outside the six mix packs are married to the box and a phone call to Sky easily swaps the card to a new Digibox.

I tried puttin it in for the normal 6 pic mix but no luck...card not authorised it says.
Is it because its not hooked up to the phone line?

    Phone line not needed.

The card may need to be activated. Ring Sky with card number. They may want box details, which is fine. It can be changed later.

Sorry to annoy yet again. When I tried to ring yesterday they asked for me to enter phone number. I hung up cause I dont know wheather its a requisit for the box to be connected to line. Is it?

I would leave everthing as it is until the installer calls out
you say you applied to get sky back. Did you apply thru sky or a retailer
it could cause a lot of confusion to pair up a new card to you old equipment.

Yea a retailer. A company from skerries.

No. It's just to know where you are. As long as you arn't in Estonia or someplace there is no reason not to type in your actual phone number.
