is there a way to stop sky coming in on av and have it come in on a channel number instead?
my new dvd recorder is also coming in on av and the 2 are fighting.the av screen kind of jumps between the 2 making neither watchable.
    thanks!

    Use the RF cable:
But the quality is much poorer and there is no automatic WS switch.

Get an external 4 way fully wired SCART switch. Note that many of them short out the RGB and SCART signals thus the WS switching and RGB does not work properly.

Or connect the DVD player to the Digibox VCR SCART.

You can use a numbered channel for sky via the rf1 output and you may not notice any major loss in picture quality because the quality is very good to start with, you can set up your remote control to switch to this channel on your television when you press the sky button on your remote control. Unless you have no other option I would not recommend this as you will lose stereo, automatic switching and rgb capabilities.
If your television is of recent manufacture then you will have at least 2 scart sockets and probably 1 svhs input on your television.
I have 5 external pieces of equipment connected to a phillips widescreen television, a dvd recorder, a video recorder, a digibox, a fta receiver and an internet box.
They are connected as follows, (I hope this isn,t too confusing)
the digibox connects to the tv via it,s av1 and to the dvd recorder via it,s av2 outputs.
the fta reciever connects to the dvd recorder from it.s av1 output to the dvd,s av2 input and also daisychains via it,s av2 output through the internet box and the video recorder to the television,s av2 input (now we are confused ,arent we)
Finally the dvd recorder is connected to the tv via svhs connection.
To stop the boxes fighting with one another cut pin 8 on all scarts except the ones going in to av1 and av2 on your tv.
I know this sounds confusing but it works perfectly for me, I have automatic sky switching, automatic video playback and can record to dvd from either digital box while watching the other one on tv at the same time, I can also record to video from fta box while also at the same time record from terrestrial to dvd or vice versa.

    To tag onto this thread:
I have chorus and sky. If I plug the chorus cable into the RF in socket on the sky box and take a feed from the RF out socket to another TV, will I get all the chorus channels along with whatever station is currently selected on the sky box?

Yes. Just make sure the Sky box is not interfering, by default it is on Ch68 which is TG4 via aerial in some areas.

Services 4 0 1 select goes to "hidden" Sky Install menu to change Sky RF channel.
