    Hi,

Wondering if its possible to buy a computer cheap through buy and sell or ebay for example and then upgrade the processor and ram to bring it up to current standards and then sell it on for a profit. Is it possible and/or what would the complications be.

For example, could buy a 2ghz machine with 250mb ram and upgrade to 3ghz and 1gb ram and sell on.

Could also buy a second hand lcd screen and upgrade the screen too if it wasnt lcd

It would depend on the motherboard that's in the machine as this will determine what type of processor and amount/type of RAM it can take. I couldn't see it being very profitable unless you were to buy components in bulk (but it would be difficult to know in advance what you were going to need)

I see very little profit there, unless u can get loadsacomponents very cheap, to buy pc,,say from uk, u have to pay postal charges, deal with exchange rates, etc, and dell are selling, 3.2 ghz pcs for like 580euro,free delivery.U cud make more money setting up LTD company, like computer doctor, to fix pcs ,SET UP WIRELESS broadbAND, deal with peoples pc problems. But you would need to be well trained to deal with many diverse problems, every pc is slightly different, with different versions of programs, windows, and different chipsets, and drivers for each os,and component.
